She has some catching up to do so here are some fun photos of our first bubble bath! We werent sure about it at first, but then we LOVED it!

Helping in the Kitchen!

Our favorite thing to do these days is help Mommy with everything she is doing. We L-O-V-E it when she lets us help with the baking because she lets us make such a big mess. And its YUMMY!
Our friend Callie also loves to help and she shows us what to do.

Here we are helping to make brownies
Oh my goodness the batter is SOOOO yummy!

I love Chocolate (just like my Grandma Johnson!)

I cant even stop liking the wisk to take the picture

BROWNIES!

We ate the brownies too fast for mommy to take the picture of them after they were cooked... !

Then we begged and begged Mommy to let us help again and she decided to make Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Dont we look cute in our little aprons?

The cookie dough was also very tasty

TA-DA!
Delicious
The cookies are baking as we speak... Maybe mommy will take a picture and post it of how yummy they look... or maybe we will eat them too quickly!
Thats it for now!
Bye!

A cautionary tale

Who would think that this sweet little face could belong to something that could cause so much worry and stress and frustration? Not I...

Once upon a time there lived two small little girls, twin sisters to be exact. Lets call them Clara and Josie. They had a fun life. Playing all day long with toys and their dog max, roaming where ere they wished to roam. Their mother gave them yummy snacks and lots of special treats like Reeses Pieces and Red Vines to eat, and even an occasional sip of...soda! What more could they possibly want or need? Thats right, nothing.
Or so their naive mother thought (lets just call her Christin).
Now even though these girls were very little for their age, they did not think they were little. In fact they believed they were BIG GIRLS. Too big to be confined to such things as cribs and play pens. HA they were no match for Clara and Josie!
Christin already knew of her daughters affinity for climbing and had even fantasied that one day they would be world renowned rock climbers, or something like that. She was so proud of her daughters ability. Especially since they were so small and unsuspecting.
However, all of this knowledge did not prepare her for what was to transpire one fateful night...
The girls awoke in the middle of the night - like unto many nights. This was not a big deal, Christin just waits it out and they usually cry for only a moment and go back to sleep. Aw the joys of sleep training! This night Crystal - I mean Christin - was surprised to hear the crying stop very suddenly... Followed by a loud THUMP. "What could that be" she wondered. She got our of bed and opened her bedroom door. What did she see?
HER 14 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WALKING DOWN THE HALL
What was she to do? How was she to proceed?
Whilst she was sitting there, still in shock, with her spider - monkey - daughter sitting on her lap, she contemplated what do do next. If she put her back in her crib she would just climb out again, and risk serious injury. Scary. If she held her and rocker her to sleep this would destroy the months of sleep training she had done to create such wonderful sleepers. Then, the worst happened. (Ok not the WORST, but almost) Her second daughter awoke and similar events transpired: Crying, crying ceasing, a loud THUMP, daughter walking out of the bedroom.
WHAT IS GOING ON????
Never in a million years did she think that her daughters would learn to climb (or dare I say FALL) our of their cribs. Never in a BILLION years did she think that they would simultaneously learn to do this on the same night. At three o clock in the morning!
So now you ask, what has she done about this? Currently the girls' room is cluttered with various pillows and blankets all around the base of the cribs. That is how it will be for the time being. She is trying to just discipline and nip the climbing thing in the bud. So every time she hears crying at night, she waits by the door until one (or both) try to climb out and then she goes in and sternly says NO NO! Plops them back down in bed. It eventually worked for the past few nights...
If this ends up not working, Walmart sells crib tents!

Moral of the story: Don't underestimate your monkey/children's abilities to do things. Even though they appear to be small, they think they are BIG!

The end.

July 4th with our families

This was our second July 4th celebration in our lives, we had a blast!
Like last year we spent the afternoon and evening at Lake Wilderness enjoying the festivities and hanging out with all our families. Unlike last year we were very very active and wanted to run and see everything that was going on!
Also this year Daddy's family decided to come as well so ours was the HUGEST group at the entire lake! Here's how many people were there:
Us - 4 plus Max
Great Granparents - 3
Grandma and Grandpa Worton, plus Allen cousins - 6
Aunt Michele and Uncle Bil and fam - 5
Uncle Tom and Aunt Jennette and fam - 4 plus Scout
Aunt Mia and Uncle Matt - 4
Aunt Lynda and Uncle John and fam - 7
Aunt Karla and Uncle Thor and fam - 5
Aunt Laura and Uncle Damon and fam - 5
TOTAL: 43 and 2 dogs

Isnt that a ginormous group? We had a blast! We loved the festivities and the swimming, but the fireworks started too late and we weren't that impressed. Joci fell asleep before they started and Claire didnt like the bright lights and fell asleep during the middle of them.
Here are some pictures of the day!

Monkey

Some of you may have noticed a particularly prominent black eye that I, Jocelynn, have been sporting for the last few weeks.

How, you may ask, did this happen? Well I have hence forward transformed into a...
MONKEY
Thats right. I had Mommy take some pictures to document the transformation:

Must...
Climb...
Everything...
Seemingly innocent...

Not so much

Success!

My sister is slowly transforming herself...

Oooh oooh - aahhh ahhhh!
(monkey sounds)

Happy Birthday to US!!!

YAY for us, we are now ONE! WOOHOO

So we had our official Birthday on June 4. So exciting. Mommy and Daddy cannot even believe that it has already been a year. One year ago we were born and were so little. We had to stay in the NICU for three weeks, but it felt like FOR-EV-VER for mommy and daddy. We finally came home and we have been growing and moving ever since!

On our actual birthday Grandma and Grandpa Johnson came over to give us presents. So exciting. Our Grandma and Grandpa Worton came over the day before because they had to go out of town. Mommy couldnt find the camera so unfortunately there are no photos of those presents. But we got some super cute and fun outfits that are sure to be documented in the days to come.

We had fun opening our presents and exploring the bows and tissue paper. The clothes we got were cool too. We got some cute princess sweaters that light up when you touch them!

Claire, exploring her spoils...
Then on Saturday, the 6th, we had our BIG GINORMOUS BIRTHDAY SHINDIG! It was awesome. There were about 50+ people there, family and loved ones. We are so lucky to have such a huge family! So here are fun photos of that event. Mommy put Uncle Garett in charge of taking pictures and he went CRAZY with all the pictures he took! Here are just a few!

Eating dinner in our decorated high chairs. Mmmmm, hot dogs, pasta salad, pink salad... yum.

Then it was present time! We had fun looking at all the clothes and shoes and toys we got from everyone!

Then we patiently awaited the big moment... The FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE EXPERIENCE. Mommy made us our very own special chocolate frosted cakes... See how we enjoy them...

Joci dove right in...

Claire was thinking, "Hmmmm, do I like this? I think I do!"

And then... Joci had an itch...

the result:

Claire is worn out by the festivities
"Too...much...chocolate..."

"I want more!!"

All done

The aftermath... Meltdown in the bath tub

It was so much fun and we slept so great that night, dreaming of all the good times we had.
Thank you everyone who came and helped us have a great birthday party!
We love you all!
