Spotlight on Jocelynn

Jocelynn B Worton
Nick names: Joci, Pretty

Jocelynn was born only 5 minutes after her big sister Claire. I sometimes call her the Big Little Sister because she has always been bigger than her "big" sister. Just up until recently she has always weighed about 6 ounces more than Claire.
Jocelynn shows more patience, often having to wait her turn to eat or to be changed. She is content to play on the floor or in the exersaucer until it is her turn to be with mommy or daddy. She loves her sister and always wants to be near her. When the two of them are on the floor it seems like Joci will gravitate towards her and want to hold her hand or foot or whatever she can reach. This was displayed even at her birth. After Claire came out the Dr had to check to make sure Jocelynn was still in the right position. All of a sudden her heartrate dropped dramatically and everyone was nervous. They all started prepping me for an emergency C-section but I wanted to push one more time. This time I pushed as hard as I possibly could for as long as I could until she came out, only 30 seconds later. She is healthy and has no side effects of her drop in heartrate. She just missed her sister and wanted to me near her!
Jocelynn, being bigger, was the first to learn to eat on her own and was discharged from the NICU a week before her sister. We got a "trial run" with her home by herself for a few days.
She has always been very social and vocal. She has been the first to try out her voice and lots of new sounds including high pitched screams when she is excited and making the sound of blowing raspberries (dont really know how to describe that). She has also learned how to give kisses! If you put your cheek close to her she will grab your face and plant a big open mouthed kiss right on it!
Joci is so full of life and energetic and always makes us smile and laugh. We are so lucky to have her as our daughter.
Here are some photos of her life thus far:

Spotlight on Claire

Claire A Worton
Nicknames: ClaireBear, Claire-ee, Pretty Girl

Over the past 7 months and more I have found Claire to have a pretty spunky personality. Even before she was born she definitely made her presence known. On bedrest, I spent many hours a day in weird positions on the couch trying to be comfortable while she stretched her body out and kicked my ribs constantly.
She was a stubborn little girl from the beginning, getting stuck against me when she was coming out. It took a lot to push her out and in the end she had quite an impressive bruise covering her entire head for about a week.
She scared us a little in the first week of her life in the NICU when she came down with an infection. She was able to receive her first Father's Blessing when she was only 3 days old and soon recovered.
Now she is a cute, spunky, motivated, and smart little girl. She knows what she wants and works so hard to get it (i.e. remotes, phones, food, her sister's toys etc). She may be small but that doesnt stop her from being the first to roll over (at two months), sit, and start to crawl. She is quick to smile and laugh at anyone who will give her attention. She loves to play and move all the time.
We are truly blessed to have Claire as our daughter!

Santa Clause is comin to town!

Oh wait! he came!
Santa came to Grandma and Grandpa Worton's house on Christmas Eve and we got to sit on his lap!
Joci was kinda tired!
Claire LOVED his long white beard!
THEN
Santa came to our house that night and left us some pretty cool stuff in our stockings!

I guess we were good girls this year!

Snow Days!

It sure did snow a lot in December! Mommy stayed inside the house with us for like a week straight!
On one day after a big storm no daddys had to work so our BFF Paisley (and her parents) came over and hung out. She showed us how good she is at sitting up and LOVED to play with our spinning toy.
Then, on a warmer day we ventured outside in our pink bear outfits and experienced snow for the first time!
This is Jocelynn sitting in a little snow chair mommy carved out for her. She touched the snow for a little bit, then figured out it was pretty cold and didnt want to touch it any more!

We are making snow angels in the snow!
We didnt stay out for very long, because boy was it cold!!!
But we had a fun time!
